Hello, Ed VanVleet here, greetings in the name of our Lord. What an awesome privilege and honor it is to lead worship here at Deeper Life in Christ Church!
It is my desire to use my gifts, talents, and calling to serve in ministry to further the gospel of Christ, to create reverent and worshipful experiences that help people come into the presence of God, and to serve alongside men and women of God who are servants of grace for the Lord.
I believe that worship is much more than just singing songs and listening to a sermon once a week. It is a lifestyle that defines our relationship with God. In the simplest of terms, worship is a response to an encounter with God and His truth. We can encounter God through His word in a corporate setting, like in a Sunday worship service, or in a personal setting as we read and study the Bible on our own. But encountering God is only half of the relationship. Worship is what we do in response to our encounters with God. These responses can be expressed in different ways such as praise, obedience, surrender, increased faith, a desire to share the gospel with others, etc.
